Helical Ring Gear
Internal helical ring gear scope for applications requiring a controlled helical epicyclic mesh.
Product family
Custom internal spur and helical ring gears for epicyclic transmissions and related internal-mesh applications. Provide mating gear data, bore or housing interface, datum scheme, material, heat treatment and measurement requirements.
Category overview
Internal ring gears combine tooth geometry with a housing, bore or flange datum. The quotation must connect the internal mesh to the outside locating features, material route, manufacturing access and measurement method.

Internal helical ring gear scope for applications requiring a controlled helical epicyclic mesh.
Custom internal spur ring gear for planetary and other internal-mesh transmission projects.
Application context
Fixed or rotating annulus gears that mesh with multiple planet gears inside compact coaxial reduction stages.
Precision internal meshes used where package diameter, reversing duty, torsional response and mounting accuracy are important.
Large ring gears for travel, swing, winch or process equipment where shock duty, heat treatment and inspection access must be defined.
| Data group | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Internal tooth data | Spur or helical form, module/DP, pressure angle, tooth count, face width, profile and lead requirements. |
| Mating planets | Approved planet tooth data, quantity, spacing, center-distance basis and backlash method. |
| Installation datum | Bore, outside diameter, pilot, flange face, bolt pattern and runout relationship to the teeth. |
| Manufacturing access | Nearby shoulders, flanges, blind features, tool approach and hard-finishing allowance. |
| Material route | Material grade, heat treatment, hardness, distortion allowance and surface protection. |
| Inspection | Tooth thickness, profile, lead, pitch, runout and datum-correlation records. |
The internal teeth operate relative to the bore, pilot, flange or housing fit. The RFQ must define which feature locates the gear and how tooth runout is referenced to it.
A sample can support measurement, but critical tooth, datum, material and heat-treatment requirements need an agreed reverse-engineering and approval scope.
State the mating planet data, measurement condition, center-distance basis and required assembled backlash rather than assigning an isolated value to the ring gear.
